4th of July Fireworks 

In Seaside Is Like No Other Fireworks in the entire U.S.

If you have been to fireworks shows and enjoy the festivities then you owe it to yourself, your family and friends to attend the annual Seaside Fireworks on the beach. It is the largest fireworks display on the Oregon or Washington coast and is like nothing you have seen before. As you can see in the photographs above there are thousands of people who attend.  Well they do a little more than just attend, they are actually part of the show. Besides the large display of fireworks produced by the Seaside Chamber of Commerce many people bring their own. This sets the stage for a show that ranges from one end of the beach to the other.

Families and friends come from all over the states and get down on the beach early to stake out their piece of beach. Then just around dusk you can hear the sounds of whistles and booms. And you see sparklers and, smoke starting to graze the sand. By dark a huge sound system starts to pump up the music and spectators cover most of the beach. Looking north from Seaside ’s famous turnaround you begin to see what appear to be fireworks stretching up the beach for miles. Look to the south and Tillamook head forms a backdrop for more fireworks extending down to the cove. As the night progresses one large mortar shell is launched high above the ocean and the crowd quiets down as the ocean, sand and promenade are illuminated. This is followed by the audience cheering and screaming in awe. The show begins.

Hundreds of colorful, choreographed fireworks start to pound the Oregon Coast like nothing you will ever see. There is a feeling in the air as if the entire U.S. was just born. Imagine yourself looking almost straight up and side to side just to see it all. The thundering sounds literally pound your chest. The only thing between you and the ocean is a few hundred feet of sand now alive with fireworks.

This year a fireworks free area has been set aside for the many families who come to enjoy the show but prefer their experience a little less exciting. Make plans well in advance. Hotels, motels, vacation rentals all bookup early, because it is the best show on the Oregon Coast .
