Astoria Historic Tour 9 AM
Taken through back roads and scenic routes with special short camera stops along the way. See old growth Rain Forests, steep mountain roads, stops at the Aster Column, Downtown Shops, Fort Clatsop, Columbia River Maritime Museum, Pier, and much more. This area tour has plenty of historic stops along the way.
Some Highlights:
Fort Clatsop was the encampment of the Lewis and Clark Expedition in Oregon near the mouth of the Columbia River during the winter of 1805-1806.
Astoria
Astoria Trolley: restored 1913 trolley runs for 2.6 miles along the Columbia River in Astoria while the conductor provides interpretation of the area’s history and attractions.
Astoria Column:
In a wooded park towering above Astoria, the Astoria Column presents a spectacular view of the city and surrounding rivers, bay, forest, mountains and Pacific Ocean. The first words of most visitors are, “Oh, Wow!”
The Astoria Column commemorates the westward sweep of discovery and migration. Built in 1926, it is 125 feet high and has 164 steps winding to the top. (You don't have to climb the stairs but the view at the top is worth every step).
Flavel House Museum:
This historic 1885 Queen Anne Style Victorian Home and its period furnishings enable visitors to imagine what life was like in Astoria at the turn of the last century.
Special Internet price: This is a 6 hour tour with a stop for lunch.
$115.00 per person. 2 persons minimum or the equivalent price. 3-4 persons $100.00 ea. Larger Groups call for details. (we can arrange for larger tour up to 15 passengers) Lunch is not included in the price. Each person is responsible for their lunch.
